My daughter loves colour. She love's creativity. S My daughter loves colour. She love's creativity. She lives BRIGHT. I've been working with the incredible team from @on_style_design working out how to redo Se's room in a way that's affordable, practical for a 7 year old and a space that CELEBRATES who she is!! The team suggested a beautiful abstract wallpaper, which Se loved!! But after seeing it a few times, I suddenly had a brainwave. Sherrie could paint this?!! So I approached my friend @sherrie_elson, knowing she's done beautiful mural work before, and yesterday she painted this magnificent mural for Se's wall. And the BEST part was that Sarah got to be included and did some of the painting work with Sherrie. (I unfortunately didn't video this as I had to be in the valley) It cost me less than half of what wallpaper would have cost, it's EXQUISITE, personal and Sarah and I couldn't be more thrilled! Thank you for your work of art @sherrie_elson and for those asking, YES she's available to quote on projects 🖌️👩‍🎨🖼️
Sitting on our Church steps as I type this. It's n Sitting on our Church steps as I type this. It's no coincidence that I'm here. God told me last year that IT WAS TIME. And mostly this year has been about walking in that.. albeit slowly and with caution. But today I finally admitted to myself that the time is NOW. No more excuses, no more self doubts, no more comfort... and here's why!! Today Noah came with me into Molweni. We weren't at a super impoverished school but of course still there are impoverished students. I didn't know this school previously so all was new for me too. A pastor in the area had asked for our help in getting uniforms for 12 needy students. As he helped dress this little Grade R boy - Noah alongside him - he mentioned that the boy had no underwear on. Noah attempted to help the boy change into his new uniform without us seeing his private parts. They are both in Grade R. They couldn't understand each other and yet DIGNITY was their universal language- their hand signalled understanding. And it hit me again. This is NOT okay. Children deserve to feel SEEN. They deserve the dignity of fresh, clean underwear. Will it change their life? No. But gosh it's a start. Join our mission to collect 50 000 pairs of panties under @passthepanties. And now as many undies as we can too! We are currently on 2300 pairs of panties. Every pair is a blessing!! Please help us reach these kids lives ❤️🙏 As of the next week, I'll be starting my podcast again & it'll be called - GIRL, ITS TIME. Because it is. It's time. And I wanna share my heart, help ignite yours and change the world together!!
Today as I drove back from the Valley, with a loca Today as I drove back from the Valley, with a local Molweni pastor, he asked me the story behind how I know my friend (and his) Sharon. And once again, God reminded me of how BIG He really is. It's so easy to forget. It's so easy to get proud and caught up in my own busy life.. and yet when God SHOWS UP regardless of 'us' we cannot but deny His existence. My meeting Sharon was one of those moments for me. It happened last year and it was next level scary kind of coincidence. Did God need me? Nope. But He chose to use me anyway. As He uses Sharon. And you too! He wants us to show us His glory and His power but too he wants to show us that we hear His voice and that He can use us. Because it's THEN that we're most ourselves. Most alive. Most effective. Most fulfilled. I'll post the reel of the start to Sharon and my story in my stories now ⤴️ Go check it out.
Plans are so helpful. But while their necessity is Plans are so helpful. But while their necessity is undoubted, what's worth doubting is how detailed your plan needs to be, before you begin. Our planning can easily get in the way of us EVER reaching our potential, leaning into our dreams and pursuing things greater than our here and now. God is calling you deeper. He's calling you to a life of purpose, of meaning.. but more often than not, it won't be all worked out before you take the first step. TRUST HIM. Then and now. Proverbs 16:9 - "A man's mind plans his way, But the LORD directs his steps!" So, Make your plans Beautiful..but know that He'll direct your steps. And He can't direct those steps, if you're still stationery.
Home after soaking up so much of Gods beautiful cr Home after soaking up so much of Gods beautiful creation this past weekend!! I needed that. Not just rest. But too to be reminded of the beauty of our land. One of the greatest reasons that we hope to call this country home for all our days ⛰️ Anyone else craving these little reminders from God of why SA is worth fighting for??
I believe this with everything with in me. God has I believe this with everything with in me. God has a CALLING on your life. One specifically for you. He didn't make you by accident - He placed something inside of you that this world needed. Now is the time to look in. To approach what you see with grace and gentleness. And then to begin to ask God how He wants to use you in this world, in your world, right now. He'll tell you. He always does. But often times it's not what we have in mind so we block it out. But he knows best and He knows YOU (and me) best. I'm here asking Him this same question too! God use me!! Comment with 🙏 if this is your prayer too!!
